Instead, the Brane Platform examines the application's model at runtime to determine how to behave. Instead of examining endless pages of code, auditors examine the application model, a vastly smaller task.

In cases when Brane does generate code and other artifacts, the individual artifacts do not need to be inspected, because their content can be precisely predicted from the model. In effect, Brane makes source code a predictable translation from a higher-level model. After gaining familiarity with Brane's generation techniques, inspecting individual source files quickly becomes no more useful than looking at p-code dumps today.

On occasion, developers find it necessary to modify some number of generated artifacts, and these edits do require inspection. The Brane Platform helps in this process by making it easy to spot such edits, reducing costs to search them out.

Of course, Brane takes responsibility for ensuring that its own code meets compliance requirements. Since Brane is heavily bootstrapped - much of it derives from models - that too is less costly than with competing approaches.
